Glow in the dark

I always look for things to use in crafting when I'm at those "deep discount" kind of stores.  Yesterday, some glow in the dark tape caught my eye.  I knew I wanted to cut something out of it with my new Silver Bullet cutter so I had to find a way to do that.  First I just stuck it to some transparency film and set the force kinda low (like for vinyl).  Cut great, BUT it was hard to peal it off the transparency without stretching it out of shape.  I had to find something that wouldn't grab onto the tape so tight.  Next idea was my old standby, clear contact paper.  I put the clear contact paper on the transparency film, then put the glow in the dark tape on top of that....... perfect.  Had to turn the force down a little more so it doesn't cut through the contact, but just grazes it.  The transparency keeps the tape nice and flat on the cutting mat.

I used it on a card I am making for my grandson.......hard to get a picture of the glow in the dark, but you get the idea.

Some crafts I finished

Sometimes I forget to take pictures of things before I send them off, so I tried to catch up with all the pictures I had on my camera.  I see I missed a few again.

Made these cards and boxes for my sister's friend.  This was another donation to a worthy cause, Mississippi Gulf Coast Honor Flight.  They will be playing Bunko, with proceeds going to the Honor Flight.  My cards will be in with the prizes.

Then I made a card for my favorite Brother-in-law.  Found this yoda svg file in my stash, but I don't know who designed it. Speak in yoda, I tried.

Well, I see I missed another picture of a card I made, but I did take one of this gift card cupcake.  This was for my BFF's birthday.  I also made a little tealight birthday cake and a box, but I don't see the picture anywhere.

This is another tealight cake I made.  I'll have to make another box if I can find my file.

Here's the other cake and the box.

Today I was working on some Easter gifts.  It's a mixture of files I have saved from assorted people.

I followed the instructions I saw on a blog to make these tealight roses.

And last, but not least is this peacock feather card that I traced and made into an svg.

A Few Valentine cards

Trying to use some of the supplies I have in my craft room.  This honeycomb embossing folder has never been used, so I incorporated it into this valentine card.  I made a quick hexagon file in SCAL  to cut and glue them in a heart shape.

This lacy heart was a file I found and the typewriter is a knock off of a punch I saw.

Hershey Kiss Valentine

I saw the cutest valentine on Pinterest, but there wasn't a cut file for it.  I studied the picture for a few days because it really looked familiar.  It's just two boxes put together... well duh!!!  I found the free templates and converted them to svg's.

Here's a great way to give your Valentine a "kiss".  I made a dozen all ready, thanks to my new Silver Bullet cutter.  They kinda look like a rose bud don't they?

If you are a regular follower of my blog, you should have no problem finding this Exclusive svg file.

Ladybug treat cup for Valentine

I got a bunch of Stampin Up heart shaped treat cups on clearance, so I made up this little ladybug for my sister.  You just pull his head up to get the treats out.

I really, really would like to get a new cutter.  I'm sure it's just the Cricut that changes the size of things when it cuts.  The right side antenna is a little fatter than the left, and I tried everything to make them identical...... how could a mirror image change like that?

Look for the link behind the ladybug picture.

Note:  you have to sign into your 4 shared account to access the file, otherwise it will give you a message that the file isn't available.  Their rules, not mine!!!

Now THIS is how that file should cut!!  What a difference!!
Guess who got an early birthday present.  Hubby got me the Silver Bullet cutter.  There is a learning curve, but it is so worth it to get cuts like this.

Cuttlebug embossing

Ran across some great instructions for doing a diagonal gap while embossing HERE

I still had some old wall paper books around so I used the heavy cardboard cover to try this technique. It's just about the same size in thickness as one of the "B" plates.

Assorted Christmas cards and novelties

Tis the season to be jolly.

Things I've been working on.......

A 2013 New Year card (for my sister to send to a friend)

This is the front I made for the candle pop up a did awhile back:

Saw this on a blog and had to play with it.  It's a punch art, but I just made an svg to cut the card and pieces since I didn't have the punches she used.... Here's the link to the instructions.

This is another punch art card                                 This came from the MTC forum
Idea from HERE                                                         This is the post it's on

I had a bunch of tea lights than my niece picked up for me when they were marked down.  Finally got to use them up before the batteries go dead.  This was another Stampin Up  punch art idea from HERE
I made up an svg file to cut all the parts.

This idea has been around for years.

Thanks to Kathy O'Toole

Awhile back, I sent off a box of cards as a raffle prize,  to Kathy  O'Toole for the pre concert gathering of the Zac Brown fan club.  Their group raised $2000.00 to donate to Camp Southern Ground.  How awesome is that???

Well, she surprised me with a "thank you" gift.......

I just love the smiley box it came in too.

Thanks again Kathy... that was so thoughtful of you!!
"Life is good Today" with people like you!

Bischon Frise

I had a request from April.  She was looking for a Bischon Frise svg cut, so this is what I came up with for her.

November where did you go?

Well, my friend Pam told me that I have been negligent with my blog .... and I guess she's right!  Can't believe the whole month of November got away from me.

I'm going to try to catch up on some of the things I have been doing.  A lot of them are from collecting svg's from all the great designers out there, or following some tuts on how to do things.

So here ya go Pam...........
